yes!
everything i've ever heard about her sad she had so much been-there-done-that. she was big, then nobody, then schoolhouse rock pulled her out of oblivion, then she was ready to retire but didn't. when i get back to seattle next month, i'll pester some of the old jazz guys i know - i'll bet cash money buddy catlett and ham carson knew her.

Did you see the Schoolhouse Rock video? So cool. And I do mean cool - her voice is like a nice drink of lemonade on a hot day. Sort of like Paul Desmond's sax playing.

I've been in love with her since I was about 20. I've never been age-appropriate so why start now? Every year on my mom's birthday when I worked for the jazz station and for the nostalgia station, I'd throw on "Blossom's Blues" for her.
